Mr.Andreas Gettkant has studied Geography, Geology and Water Engineering at the University of Bonn with a, Master’s Degree in Geography. He has more than 25 years of experience working in the field of biodiversity and nature conservation and headed many programs within GIZ.
He was Director of the Project "Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from the Utilization and Management of Biological Diversity in Mexico" together with the National Commission on Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity. Currently holding the position of Director of the Global Projects "Private Business Action for Biodiversity" and "Blue Solutions - Marine and Coastal Biodiversity" implemented by Deutsche
Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Bonn on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for The Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
